For Charlène's dress, I recommend linen, viscose linen, double gauze, cotton voile, viscose... Fluid fabrics in short. I highly recommend making the lined version if your fabric is sheer! For the lining, choose a fabric that weighs less than your main fabric. For example, for my viscose linen version, I lined my dress with cotton poplin.
For beginners, I'd recommend linen or cotton voile.
