Perfect for keeping baby's head well protected during babywearing, or to complete an outfit that lacks a hood.

Ideal in fabric scraps

The cape

Sandwich-style, it covers baby's front and back, leaving his arms free.

Perfect for strollers and cars, it keeps baby warm without compressing him, as the straps fasten under the cape.

Ideal for mid-season

The classic poncho

Easy to put on and take off thanks to snap fasteners

Its length makes it easy for baby to use his hands.

The XXL poncho

Specially designed for the car, it covers baby almost entirely.

Gone are the days when you had to put on a coat all the way to the car, then take it off when it was cold outside. You cover baby with the XXL poncho all the way to the car, put him in his seat (the straps fasten under the poncho) and remove the poncho with a flick of the wrist once the temperature is sufficient, or leave it on for the whole journey.

What's more, the XXL poncho is perfect as a bath cape poncho, thanks to its length designed to cover baby as much as possible.

Fabric recommendations

Main fabric (outer)
Against wind and weather: softshell or waterproof fabric, wool.
For non-waterproof versions: sweatshirt, cotton, jersey.

Lining
The lining must be soft, as it will be in contact with baby's skin: doudou fabric, minkee, sweatshirt, jersey, cotton, double gauze...

For a bath cape version

Outer fabric: terry or cotton fabric

Lining fabric: terry

Haberdashery

Snap fasteners suitable for selected fabrics

Threads to match fabrics

Optional: fusible webbing to reinforce fabric where buttons are placed

Material

A sewing machine and needles suited to the fabrics chosen
