Sheebam is a pattern for lightweight shorts or pants for girls aged 2 to 16.
The pattern is worn on the hips. The waistband is elasticated, with or without frills. Sheebam can be sewn with pockets, whose opening can be decorated with a frill, piping or braid...
Two cuts are available for the shorts: a flared cut that rises slightly to the side and has a flounce at the hem (version A), or a simple, straight cut (version B).
The pants are straight-cut, like the simple shorts (version B).
The waistband is elasticated for maximum comfort and can be topped with frills.
Depending on the fabric used and the version chosen, Sheebam can be worn as pajama bottoms, shorts or light summer pants.
To preserve the lightness of the ruffles on version A, they are either lined, hemmed with a roulotté or adorned with a lace braid.
This pattern for shorts or pants presents no particular difficulty, but does require a little meticulousness when making the gathers. The simplest version is very quick to sew.
