Description

Choosing the right fabric

For this model, choose a light warp and weft fabric (80 to 140 gr/m²). A wide choice of fabrics is available. You'll find some fabric ideas below, but feel free to let your imagination run wild. A lightweight fabric such as silk or viscose will have a softer feel. On the other hand, a fabric that holds up better, such as cotton poplin or broderie anglaise, will give your dress a very theatrical effect. I don't recommend using fabrics that tend to slacken to make ruffles easier to assemble. If you decide to double your ruffles, be careful not to use a fabric with too much hold.

For the lining, choose a cotton voile or a lining with antistatic properties.
