Lydie is an oversized side-tie kimono.

Sew it in its long version with nude viscose crepe for an undressed version to wear at home every day.

For an airy version to wear on cool summer evenings, use a viscose linen, to match with flared denim shorts, a classic white tee and sneakers.

Finally, for a jacket- or coat-style version, opt for wool satin or wool sheeting for a thicker, warmer version!

It all depends on how you want your kimono to look: if you want to make a very flowing version, or even a negligee, I recommend viscose crepe, polyester or silk satin, or cotton voile.

If you want a version with a little more hold, turn to a linen, viscose linen, chambray, tencel or cotton poplin.

Finally, for a version with lots of structure, opt for wool, denim or gabardine.
