We therefore recommend that you always wash a fabric thoroughly before sewing. Don't forget to take the shrinkage rate of your fabric into account when planning the quantity of fabric needed for the project. This is usually expressed as a percentage of the fabric's original dimensions by the manufacturer. You'll also need a 3.5 to 4 cm wide elastic for the waistband and a 2.5 to 3 cm wide elastic for the ankles.
