Description
Fabric recommendation:
Light to medium weight, non-stretch woven fabric with good drape is recommended for this pattern. Satins, crepes, crepe-de-chine, georgette and chiffons are some examples. The composition can be viscose, rayon, silk and polyester.
Skill level:
Intermediate due to the bias cut and working with drapey, fluid fabrics. But a confident beginner can handle this project, if you would like to learn some skills and techniques along this project.
Measurements and Seam allowances:
This pattern includes measurements in Metric and Imperial systems in all files. Seam allowances are 1cm (3/8") for all seams unless marked otherwise on the pattern for the particular seam or hem.

Style description:
Bias cutting is a technique where the fabric grain is positioned on a 45-degree angle instead of straight or cross-grain. The result is flattering, slinky fit that drapes fluidly around the body beautifully hugging the curves. Besides looking chic and elegant, bias-cut garments are very comfortable due to the fabric flexibility.
Gia dress and top feature 2 different necklines on the front. Variations A and C feature a shallow V cut, while B and C look contemporary with a straight neckline.
All variations have 2 straps on each shoulder, and a pair of them cross over on the back near the apex of the deep V cut.
Variations A and B, which are dresses, have 2 lengths marked on the pattern. Length I is classic below the knee, and the length II is a trendy mid-calf. These lengths are based on 170cm (5’7”) height.
Gia dress/top has constructed with bust darts which makes it mould better on the figure, without gaping necklines and armholes.
This pattern can also be used to make slips to wear under see through tops and dresses.
