Slip dress sewing pattern PDF - GIA
Bias-cut babydoll dress / Digital PDF sewing pattern. Patterns for 4 variations and detailed instructions.
Bias-cut is a technique where the fabric grain is positioned at a 45-degree angle instead of straight or crossed. The result is a flattering, form-fitting cut that drapes fluidly around the body, beautifully hugging curves. As well as being chic and elegant, bias-cut garments are very comfortable thanks to the flexibility of the fabric.
The Gia dress and top feature 2 different front necklines. Variants A and C feature a shallow V-cut, while B and C are contemporary with a straight neckline.
All variants have 2 straps on each shoulder, and a pair of them cross in the do.
Variants A and B, which are dresses, have 2 lengths marked on the pattern. Length I is classic below-the-knee, and length II is a trendy mid-calf. These lengths are based on a height of 170 cm (5'7").
The Gia dress/top has been constructed with darts at the bust, making it more form-fitting on the silhouette, without gaping necklines and armholes.
This model can also be used to make briefs to wear under sheer tops and dresses.
