The Chaplin pants, with their high waist and wide flared legs, are a must have in your wardrobe! It closes with an invisible zipper on the side. You have the choice between a classic belt or with religious pleats. You can add removable suspenders that you can put on or take off as you wish! Chaplin is also shorts whose length is ideal for being comfortable. You can sew it with one or the other of the belts and choose to add the removable suspenders.

 

To make sewing easier:

  • All pdf patterns now have layers by size and have no frame to cut out.
  • Seam allowances are included.
  • No overlapping parts.

Level: Intermediate level for the classic belt version. The technical point is the installation of the invisible zipper. Sewing the pleated belt is advanced, however with a little practice and on a fabric that doesn't "move" you can get started!

Choice of fabric: A heavy fabric such as gabardine, jeans or even a fine woolen, suedette, velvet or jacquard for winter trousers/shorts. Or a lighter fabric such as chambray, viscose, twill or crepe, for mid-season or summer.

You can also take a fabric with elasticity that will give you more comfort around the waistband.

Supplies (fabric width 140 cm):

  • Shorts: up to 115 cm depending on the models and sizes (more details in the booklet).
  • Pants: 215cm.
  • Invisible zipper 22 cm.
  • Iron-on interlining.
