Designed for warp and weft fabrics. Do not use knitted fabrics.

This intermediate-level sewing pattern includes sizes 32-50FR and both versions. You can make pants or shorts with a single or double waistband.

PIIA is a straight-leg pant with four small topstitched pleats on the front and two darts on the back. This garment features all the classic pant elements: Italian pockets, fly and waistband. You can add a double waistband with a cutout in the back. The pants are also available as shorts with cuffs at the hem for a more casual look.

Fabrics

Choose flowing or structured fabrics, depending on the desired effect: crepe, gabardine, canvas, viscose. Choose fabrics with a little elastane for comfort.

Width of fabric: 1.40m.

Metric (or fabric length) including 10cm margin to allow for shrinkage in the wash:

Version A Trousers: Sizes 32-50 2.30m.
Version B Shorts: Sizes 32-50 1.20m.

Please note that this yardage is specifically calculated for a 140cm width. It is not suitable for narrower widths.
Lining

Versions A and B: 30cm.

Thermo-adhesive

Choose a thin cotton fusible web.
Versions A and B: 1.10m.

Haberdashery

Zipper 15cm.
Button diameter 1.7cm. 1 button for single belt. 2 buttons for double belt.
Hook 1 pair.
One spool of polyester sewing thread in matching color.

OPTIONAL: Three thread cones in matching color for serger. You can either use a similar color you already have, or zigzag if you don't own a serger.
